Batman is on the descent, presumably from
Catwoman, in this dizzying image taken from the 1990s
series, “Batman,” produced by Alan Burnett, Paul Dini and
Bruce Timm.
-
Traces of what gives Gotham its distinct
darkness is found in this piece’s background, such as
perilously tall buildings and the blood-red nighttime
background.
-
Sometimes called serigraph cels, the
serigraphy process involves silk-screening each in
individual color to the cel, one at a time. Every distinct
shade is a separate screen and pass, flawlessly reproducing
each color.
-
This dimensional sericel includes two
cels and a background designed to be framed with a small
space between each layer. This creates a dramatic and
dimensional look to the art.
